Best-Selling Cars in Japan (2021/04-/09)

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

In the first half of 2021 (April to September),

Toyota Motor Corporation's Yaris took the top spot in new vehicle sales by name, selling more than 100,000 units.

Honda's N-BOX mini super-high wagon

was in second place, slightly down from the previous year.

Toyota's "Roomy" rose to third place due to its significant growth.

Four out of the top 10 models were forced to fall below the previous year's level due to the shortage of semiconductors and production adjustments caused by the spread of the new coronavirus.

According to the All Japan Mini Vehicles Association,

there was no change in the top three models with the N-bo, the Suzuki Spacia in second plac, and the Daihatsu Tanto in third place.

This is the 15th month that the Yaris has been ranked No. 1 among registered vehicles!

According to an announcement by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JAMA), Aqua and Corolla came in second and third in September, respectively, marking the 16th consecutive month that Toyota vehicles occupied the top three positions.
